This page gets you here: on any upload or library field, the image is actually on the content.
Before you start
- You are editing a screen that has an image field (news, a page block, product media, a logo, custom content, and similar).
- Uploading needs owner or editor access.
What the picker looks like
Click upload or library next to the field. The same window opens (the image picker):
- The top of the window may name the site you are managing. Confirm it is the one you are editing.
- If you can upload, there are two tabs: upload, and library.
- The upload button opens the upload tab. The library button opens the library tab.
A viewer usually sees only the library, with no upload tab.
Upload a new image from your computer
- Click upload (or switch to the upload tab if the picker is already open).
- Choose a file. A single field takes one image at a time. Product media and some gallery fields can take several at once.
- The system compresses and uploads. The screen shows progress (for several files, the current count and the total).
- When one file or several files finish, the window usually applies them and closes.
- Back on the edit page, you still have to save that piece of content (save or publish at the bottom of the news article, page, or product). An upload alone does not put the image on the public site.
After upload, the image is in the site library. Other fields can pick the same image later.
What you can fill in while uploading (library sidebar or the upload area)
Depending on the screen, you may see:
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Folder | Which folder the new image goes into. Many edit screens fill this in for you (a product uses 商品管理). You can pick another folder, or create one |
| Description (list / search) | Only for the admin library list and search. It does not become the caption under the image on the public site |
If you leave the description empty, the system often uses the file name without the extension as the default.
Pick an image that is already in the library
- Click library, and open the library tab.
- You can use:
- Search: description, file name, or path.
- Folder menu: show only one folder.
- Click a thumbnail to select it. A single field takes one image. Product media and similar can select several, then confirm.
- On a phone you may open one image first, then go back to the library or confirm.
- After you confirm, it is applied to the field. Then save the content.
If the library says this site has no images yet, switch to the upload tab, or confirm you are on the right site.
If you cannot find an image: clear the search, set the folder back to all, and check whether it was uploaded on another site.
One image or several
| Situation | What the picker does |
|---|---|
| Logo, news cover, a single block image, a custom-content “image” field | Choosing one image applies it |
| Product media, a custom-content gallery field, and similar | You can select several. Uploading several files adds them together |
On product media the buttons are Add from library and Upload images. See Set product images.
Insert an image in the body editor
News, product details, and some custom-content rich text use this same picker when you insert an image. Do not rely on pasting a picture from another website as the only method. If a pasted external image fails, upload the file yourself.
The caption in a news article is a public note for that article. It is not the library description, and the two do not rewrite each other.
Clear the image on a field
If the field has a clear control, that only removes the selection on this field. It usually does not delete the file from the library. Deleting a file is in Delete an image and check usage.
How to check
- The field preview shows the new image.
- The content is saved or published.
- The public site or the preview shows the new image (force a refresh if you need to).
- Open the picker again. The same image is in the library (search the file name or the folder).
When it gets stuck
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| There is no upload tab | You do not have access, or you are a viewer |
| Upload fails | Check the format and size (Folders, size, and format), and read the error on the screen |
| You picked an image and the public site did not change | You did not save or publish the content |
| The library is empty | Wrong site, or nothing has been uploaded. There is no library shared by the whole platform |
| The form was cleared after upload | Rare. Copy the text you already typed, try again, and tell support. Do not refresh the whole page while you are picking an image |
