This page explains whether a file can be uploaded, how large it should be, and which folder it lands in.
The steps are in Upload and pick from the library.
Formats and size
The library accepts:
- JPEG (.jpg / .jpeg)
- PNG
- WebP
- GIF
- SVG
One file is limited to about 5 MB. Over that, the upload fails. Compress it first.
For a product’s main image, the admin also suggests JPG or WebP (that pairs more reliably with the 4:3 cover crop).
If a logo or icon needs a transparent background, use PNG or SVG.
Suggested size (by field)
Under a field, the admin often shows a suggested size. Follow that field. These are the usual defaults:
| Use | Suggestion | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Product media (list cover, main product image, share image) | 1200×900 px (4:3), at least 1200px wide | The public site crops with cover. Keep the subject centered |
| News list cover | The same 1200×900 px (4:3) | The list, the article, and related articles all crop to 4:3 |
| Brand logo | Follow the hint on the basics fields. A transparent background helps | Upload the dark and light logos in their own fields |
| Favicon | Follow the field hint (usually close to a square) | |
| Author photo / circular photo | A square, for example 400×400 px | So the circle does not cut off the face |
| Main image on a page block | Read that block’s field note | A hero and a text-and-image block want different things |
| Social / SEO share image | Wide enough (1200px or more on a product or news image shares more cleanly) | You can reuse the first cover image |
If there is no hint, prefer something closer to 1200px wide and let the system scale it down. Do not stretch a few hundred pixels.
Use a clear English or numeric file name (for example product-card-front.jpg) so library search is easier. A Chinese file name is not an error, but it is harder to search.
What folders are for
A folder only changes how you find images in the admin library. It does not become a public album page by itself.
In the picker you can filter by folder. When you upload, you can choose which folder the file enters.
Which folder does a new upload enter?
A new image from a content edit screen is filed automatically when the system can (renaming the type or the page later does not move old images):
| What you are editing | Default folder for a new image |
|---|---|
| A product (media, an image in the body, a spec image) | 商品管理 |
| News | That content type’s current display name |
| Docs | That type’s current display name |
| A custom-content entry | That type’s current display name |
| A site page | That page’s title (if the title is still empty, the page type’s name) |
| An account avatar | A fixed folder name, 帳號頭像. It does not follow the admin language |
A few screens, such as brand settings, may still use a broader folder. If you are not sure, search the library by file name after you upload.
You can pick a different folder while uploading, or change it later in the library sidebar if that image has a folder field.
Using one image in several places
The same image can be shared by several pages, news articles, and products. That is normal, and it saves space.
Before you delete a file, read Delete an image and check usage, so one shared image does not break every place that uses it.
