This page gets you here: the tree has a chapter and one article, and you can preview the draft.
Visitors still cannot see it until you follow Publish a document and publish the article and every folder above it.
Where
On the space list, open a space title (the description is about managing the tree and pages in this space). You can go back to the space list, or switch to another space.
The toolbar:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add a root folder | The outermost chapter |
| Add a root page | An article at the top level (no folder above it) |
| Add subfolder on a row | Another level under that folder |
| Edit | Opens that item’s edit page |
| Preview | See the draft while you are signed in (visitors cannot) |
| Copy | Copies it as a draft |
| Delete | A folder also deletes its children. It cannot be undone |
You can search by title. When you are not searching, you can drag to reorder. When there are many nodes (about more than 200), the public catalog starts more collapsed. That is a performance guard.
Add one page
- Have a parent folder first (or decide it should be a root page).
- Add it from the toolbar, or from the folder’s row.
- On the edit page, fill in:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The sidebar label and the article title |
| URL slug | The path piece. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. The screen warns that changing the slug changes the public URL |
| Summary (plain text) | Used on lists, search, and space cards |
| Audience | Public (anyone can read) or members only (sign-in required) |
| Parent | You can move it under another folder |
| Body | The article |
| SEO title / description, OG share image | Optional |
A multilingual site has language tabs. An empty language falls back to the default language. See Translate content.
- Save the draft first, then use Preview on the row. Do not use a private window as the preview (without a sign-in, the draft is invisible).
A folder has the same title, slug, summary, and audience. A folder has no long article, but it must be published or the pages under it will not go public.
Copy and delete
- Copy: the result is a draft. A success notice says it was copied as a draft.
- Delete: if that one item has children, the confirm says the children will be removed too. You can also select rows and delete them together.
Check
- The new folder or page is on the tree, and the status is draft.
- Preview shows the right content.
- A private window on the public URL still cannot see it (it is not published yet, which is expected).
When it sticks
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You added it and the public site does not show it | It is not published yet, or a folder above it is still a draft. See the publish page |
| You cannot type a trailing hyphen in the slug | Type the hyphen, then leave the field so the system tidies it. The hyphen at the end should not be stripped while you are still typing |
| You cannot delete a folder | Use the confirm that also deletes the children, or delete the pages inside first |
