Once you are in the admin, the left side (or the two-column sidebar on a wide screen) is the main navigation. Confirm you are managing the right site before you change anything.
Switch sites
If your account can manage two or more sites, the top bar shows a site switcher:
- Open the site name that is showing now.
- Search by name, site code, or domain.
- Pick the site you want. The admin switches to it.
After you switch, the pages, settings, and orders you see belong only to this site. Other sites stay as they are.
If you manage only one site, you usually will not see a switcher. That is expected.
How to read the sidebar
The sidebar changes with the features the site has turned on, and with your permissions. A typical site is grouped like this:
| Group | What you use it for |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | The overview, numbers from the last 28 days, and everyday shortcuts. See Read the dashboard |
| Content types | Pages, news, the docs center, custom records, and other content |
| Site | Basics, SEO, site style, header and footer, forms, members, and similar |
| Site settings → Conversion tools | The announcement bar, the shortcut button, and the entry popup. See Conversion tools, in brief |
| Foreclosure, shop, booking, static sites, subscriptions, AI marketing, and similar | They appear only when the site has that feature on, and you have permission |
Items that never appear in a customer admin (managing every site on the platform, every user, crawler monitors, and similar) are TimTech’s own operations. This handbook does not cover them.
The two-column sidebar on a wide screen
A wider screen may use a two-column sidebar: icons on the left, and the submenu on the right.
- Select the right group from the icons on the left (for example Content or Site).
- Then open the specific item in the list that expands (for example Pages, or Basics).
If the menu looks shorter than you expect, you are often still in another group. Select the matching icon and it comes back.
Your account, and how the admin looks
These follow your sign-in, not the site you happen to be managing:
- The top bar can open Appearance (interface language, light or dark, accent color, and sidebar layout)
- Or open Account settings (
/admin/account) for preferences, a password change, and turning two-factor sign-in on or off
See Account settings.
When you cannot find a feature
Check in this order:
- Is this the right site? The name in the top bar should be the site you mean to change.
- Is this the right group? On the two-column sidebar, switch to the right top-level group first.
- Permission. Viewers, and people whose access has been narrowed, will not see many write actions.
- Is the feature available? Foreclosure, the shop, booking, static sites, AI, and some content entries (news, the docs center, custom content types) are turned on by the platform. If you cannot see one, contact a platform admin.
If it is still missing, contact the site owner or TimTech support, and name the feature you need. A step-by-step check is in A feature is missing from the sidebar.
Next
Once the navigation feels familiar, read Read the dashboard and Account settings. Then go to Site and pages, and start from the page list and the editor to change the home page, an about page, or similar content.
