When the public site or the admin preview shows a broken image, an old logo, or a new image that will not appear, check the list below.
Usual causes and what to do
1. You just changed a logo or an image, and you still see the old one
- First force a reload (or open a private window) and look again.
- The browser or a cache in between can lag. Most of the time, waiting a moment is enough.
- The admin has no “clear CDN / Redis” button for a site owner. Do not look for that option.
2. The public image breaks for a moment, then a reload fixes it
An image can fail to load because of external storage or a short connection problem. The public site already retries and has a fallback. Reloading the page usually restores it.
If the same image stays broken for a long time, check next whether the file was deleted, or whether the upload succeeded.
3. The library image was deleted, and a page still uses it
Before you delete a library image, the system may say it is still used by N items.
- If you delete it anyway, the places that used it break.
- The right order: pick a different image on the page or product first, then delete the file.
4. The upload failed, or the image is not ready yet
- Look for an error in the admin (format, size, permission).
- A viewer usually cannot upload or delete images. They can only pick an image that already exists.
- If it will not show right after upload, wait and try again, or upload it once more.
A useful order
- A private window, or a forced reload.
- Open the image picker for that field again in the admin, and confirm the image is still there.
- If you just deleted something from the library, check whether content still points at the old image.
- Pick a different image, save or publish, then open the public site again.
- If it is still wrong: send support the broken URL, the page it happened on, and about when.
If you changed a logo or a section image and the whole public page is still the old version (not only a broken image), see Published, but visitors still see the old site.
