After making the content visually appealing, you also need to confirm whether "visitors can see it." This depends on whether the page is draft or published, and whether you have saved it.
Draft vs Published
| Status | General Visitors | Backend Members |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Cannot see the full content via public URL | Can edit in the backend and preview |
| Published | Can browse via public URL | Can continue to modify; remember to save/update after changes |
The publish switch on the list, or the buttons at the bottom of the details page such as "Save Draft / Update Publish / Unpublish," are all for switching this status (actual wording may vary based on the interface).
How to Preview
- First save the current modifications (unsaved content usually does not appear in the preview).
- Click 'Preview' (eye icon) in the page list, or use preview in the details/edit process.
- The preview will open through the backend preview mechanism, and the URL is not a formal public link to share with visitors.
Preview Notes
- You need to be logged into the backend. If you send the preview URL to colleagues or clients who are not logged in, they usually cannot see it.
- To provide external reviewers, please instead: publish to a hidden path, use a testing site, or ensure they also have backend access—choose according to your internal process.
- The preview allows you to view drafts and published pages; the public URL only reflects content that is published and open to visitors.
Recommended Publishing Process
- Complete the title, necessary fields, and SEO (if applicable) on the details page.
- (Owner) If there are changes to the block, save the block in the full-screen editor.
- Preview desktop and mobile widths (using browser developer tools or an actual mobile device).
- Confirm that the navigation is linked to this page (see How to Edit Menu).
- Change to Published.
- Open the public URL in an incognito window or logged-out state to verify again.
Is it still the old version after publishing?
See Published but Still Old. First, confirm that it has been saved, the status is published, check the correct site and page, then use incognito mode or force refresh.
Block types (examples you will encounter)
The actual selectable types vary depending on the platform and the modules that have been enabled. Common options include:
- Main visual/banner, image and text introduction, key points list
- Gallery, Image carousel, Image and text carousel (item list) (can select images for preview; gallery can also change links. Default is pure display; see Full-screen page editor)
- Latest news (automatic), Custom content list (automatic)
- Contact form (embedded), call-to-action button (can 'open form')
- Foreclosure/product modules selection (module activation required)
You don't need to learn all blocks at once; copying the structure from existing template pages and then changing the text is usually the fastest.
Download area block (upload files)
The page editor can add a "Download Area" block to list resources available for visitors to download.
Two types of link methods
- External/Internal Links: Paste the external file URL in the "Download Link" or select an internal page (the behavior is the same as other block link selections).
- Upload Internal Files: Click "Upload File" in the same row, and choose PDF or ZIP (single file limit is about 20MB). After a successful upload, the system will automatically fill in the download link; please remember to save the page.
Notes after uploading
- Files will undergo a security scan first; until the scan is complete, visitors may temporarily be unable to access the file when clicking download. If the backend shows a scanning prompt, please wait and test again on the frontend later.
- Uploaded files will occupy the site's storage space quota (shared with the media library).
- Deleting that row, replacing it with a new file, or changing the download link to another URL/clearing it will not immediately delete the old file. After saving the page, if there are no other places on the site using this file, the system will automatically delete it and free up space within about a day. If you leave without saving, the original download link will still work normally.
- If you only want to provide an external cloud link, please paste the URL directly without uploading.
