This page gets you here: visitors can open the right pages from the header (and the footer).
By default only an owner can edit it. Component style is in Choose a component and edit it.
Where
- Site → Header & Footer (
/admin/settings/nav). - Edit Header menu in the header section, and footer links in Footer menu.
- Press Save at the bottom.
Add and reorder
- Add a link row (the button is add or add a row; use the label on the screen).
- Fill in Display text (on a multilingual site, switch the language tab and fill it again).
- Choose a link target:
- A page on this site
- News, custom content, or the docs center
- An entry for a module that is on (the shop, product categories, the foreclosure list, bookings, and similar)
- A custom URL (external, or a special path)
- If you need it, check open in a new tab
- Drag to reorder. You can make a two-level group (a parent item plus child links). A group can have a title link (where the group name itself goes). It uses the same targets as child links, including the shop and product categories. You can also choose none, so the name only opens the submenu.
- After you save, click through on the public site or in a private window.
If Mega multi-column submenu is on, a group opens as a full-width set of columns. Set each column’s links in the menu. See Choose a component and edit it.
Each group allows at most 6 columns, and each column at most 12 links (72 in total). Save fails, and names the reason, if you go over the limit, leave display text empty, or a group has no links at all.
Notes
- If a module is off, its target may be missing from the list, or it will not show on the public site.
- For a large redesign, publish the new pages first, then point the menu at them in one change, so visitors do not land on drafts.
- Frontend main menu on General now lives on this page. That card only links here.
Check
- On the public header, the order and the words are right.
- Each link opens a published page (private window, not signed in).
- The phone menu (the hamburger) reaches the same links.
- Two-level and Mega: every child link works, and no group is empty.
When it sticks
