This article covers: What legal pages will automatically appear on a new site, where to modify them, and how it will work when multilingual is enabled.
Admin path: Content Types → Page Management (/admin/pages).
Who can edit? Similar to regular pages: owners and site editors can usually edit the content; deletion may not be possible if the page is protected by roles.
What does the platform automatically do when creating a new site?
When establishing a new site (including paid site creation and manual creation in the backend), the platform will automatically:
- Add two pages and publish them:
- Privacy Policy (URL fragment is usually
/privacy-policy) - Terms of Service (URL fragment is usually
/terms-of-service)
- Designate these two pages as the legal pages for the site (used for identification in the backend; deletion will prompt that they are protected).
- Add these two links to the footer links (if the link already exists, it will not be added again).
The content will include your site name. At the end, there is a "Template Description": the content is a general draft, not legal advice, please modify according to actual business and applicable regulations before formal use.
How to change the content?
- Go to Page Management, find "Privacy Policy" or "Terms of Service."
- Enter the page and modify the rich text block using the Fullscreen Page Editor.
- Save and confirm the status as Published.
- Open the front end to verify
/privacy-policy,/terms-of-service(or your modified slug).
To change the URL fragment, modify the URL slug in the page details and ensure the menu/footer links still point to the correct page. See How to Add a Page and Publish.
Footer Links
After creating the site, visitors can usually see 'Privacy Policy' and 'Terms of Service' at the bottom of the footer.
To adjust the order, display text, or remove links:
- Go to Site → Header and Footer (
/admin/settings/nav). - Edit the Footer Links (based on the screen labels).
- Save. Success message "Page header and footer settings have been saved."
See How to Edit Menu for details.
Removing the footer link will not delete the page itself; the page can still be accessed via the URL or other locations in the menu.
When multilingual is enabled
| Timing | What will happen |
|---|---|
| Multilingual was enabled during site creation | Both pages will write the titles and body templates in the active languages (e.g., Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese). |
| Multilingual was enabled later by the platform | When saving site settings and enabling multilingual, if the title or body of either page in a certain language is still empty, the platform will automatically fill in the template for that language. Already filled translations will not be overwritten. |
After completion, please revise according to the business needs of each language. For translating other pages, see How to Translate Content.
Difference from "Privacy and Data Deletion"
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Legal page of this article | Privacy policy / terms of service article for front-end visitors |
| Privacy and Data Deletion | Backend settings: form submission retention days, member self-service account deletion, platform support for access summary |
Both sides need attention, but for different purposes.
How to verify
- The page management shows two pages, and they are published.
- The front end
/privacy-policy,/terms-of-servicecan be opened, and the content includes the site name. - Two links can be seen at the bottom of the footer (if you haven't manually removed them).
- For multilingual sites: switch to the second language, and the titles and content of the two pages have the corresponding language content (or the translations you have modified).
Common issues
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Can't find these two pages in page management | Confirm if it is a newly created site; this feature does not automatically create pages for old sites. If needed, please add the pages yourself and include links in the footer. |
| Unable to delete the page | It may have been designated as a legal page role. First, change the designation to another page in site settings/page roles (according to the screen), or contact TimTech. |
| The second language still appears like the main language after multilingual setup | Go to the page, switch the language, edit, and save; or confirm that the platform has enabled the multilingual module. See How to set up languages. |
| No links in the footer | Check the footer links in the homepage; the theme/manual settings may have overwritten them. Just re-add the links of the type "page." |
