Choose the languages

In Basics, tick the active languages, pick the default, and choose the URL prefix.

When this is done, the public site shows a language switcher, and the URL strategy is the one you chose. By default, only the owner. Translating the words is in Translate the content .

Where

Site → Basics (/admin/settings).
Find Languages. The note there is about the public languages, the default language, and the URL prefix.
Save with Save all settings at the bottom of the page, or with the save control on that block, whichever the screen shows. Success says the language settings were updated.

If you see that languages have not been enabled by a platform admin, contact TimTech. There is no switch on your side.

The default language has to be one of the active languages, or the save is refused.

Once published content exists, the default language usually cannot change. See Languages, in brief .

The public header shows the switcher, listing the languages you ticked.
With the recommended strategy, the default-language home is / or an unprefixed path, and the second language is /en/… (or whichever you ticked).
After a switch, menus and titles fall back. An untranslated field shows the primary language, not a blank.
With an account that is not the owner, this form should not be editable.
