This page gets you here: a notice across the top of the header on every public page.
The overview and the other two tabs are in Conversion tools overview.
Where
- Site Settings → Conversion tools.
- The Announcement tab.
- Turn on Enable announcement.
- Fill in the fields, then press Save in the bottom bar.
Fields
| Field | Required | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Enable announcement | — | Off hides it on the public site. The text stays, so you can turn it on again later. |
| Announcement text | Required if it should show | The sentence on the banner. About 400 characters at most. One sentence is enough. |
| Link (optional) | No | A site path such as /promo, or a full https://…. When it is set, the whole line can be clicked. |
| Background color | No | Shows only after the announcement bar is on. Leave it empty to keep the header’s default background. |
| Text color | No | If a custom background is set and this is empty, the text color follows how light or dark that background is. Leave both empty to follow the theme. |
If the switch is on and the text is empty, the announcement does not show. Colors are shared across languages. When the announcement bar is on, the header editor can change these two colors as well. Both screens save the same settings.
On a multilingual site, switch Language at the top of the page and fill the announcement text in another language (for example English, Japanese, or Simplified Chinese). The link is shared. Leave another language empty and visitors in that language see the default-language text. If the default language has no text, the bar does not appear.
Check
- Open the homepage and any inner page in a private window. The same sentence sits above the header.
- If you set a link, clicking it opens the right page (that page has to be published).
- If you changed the background or text color, the public banner should use that color. Clear them and save to go back to the theme colors.
- Turn the switch off and save. The bar should disappear.
When it sticks
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You saved and nothing appeared | The switch is off, or the announcement text is empty. |
| The link is a 404 | The target page is still a draft, or the path is wrong. See Old links 404 after a URL change. |
| It looks like the header’s main button | The announcement is the strip at the very top. The main button lives in the header component. See Choose a component and edit visually. |
