This page gets you here: a few seconds after a visitor arrives, an offer or notice opens once.
The overview is Conversion tools overview.
Where
- Site Settings → Conversion tools → the Popup tab.
- Turn on Enable entry popup.
- Set the delay, display frequency, and content. A click link is optional. Then Save.
It appears only when content is filled in. A switch with empty content does not open a window.
On a multilingual site, switch Language at the top and write a version of the popup content in the same editor. Delay, display frequency, and the click link are shared. Leave a language’s content empty and visitors see the default language. If the default language has no content, the popup does not appear.
Fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable entry popup | Off hides it. The content stays. |
| Delay (seconds) | How long after arrival before it opens. 1–60. |
| Display frequency | How soon it may open again after the visitor closes it. See the table below. |
| Content | The same editor as news. Type “/” to insert a heading, paragraph, list, or image. |
| Click link (optional) | Pick a page on this site, or type a path. You can open it in a new tab. When it is set, clicking the popup content (not the close button) goes there. With no link, the popup is only for reading. |
Display frequency
| Option | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Every visit | It shows again on each arrival, including a page change, until the visitor closes it. Use carefully during a campaign. |
| Once per tab session | It does not open again until that browser tab is closed (the default). |
| Once a day | At most once a day on the same device. |
| Once a week | At most once a week on the same device. |
| Only once | After the visitor closes it, it does not show again unless they clear browsing data. |
Frequency is stored in the visitor’s own browser. After you change the copy in the admin, visitors who already closed it may still not see it until the frequency expires or they clear site data. Check in a private window.
Check
- Open the public site in a private window. After the seconds you set, the popup should appear.
- Close it and reload the same tab. If the frequency is not “every visit”, it usually does not open again right away.
- Open another new private window. It should appear once more.
- If you set a click link, clicking the content should open a published page.
When it sticks
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| It never opens | The switch is off, the content is empty, or the delay has not finished. |
| You cannot see it yourself | You already closed it, so the frequency is holding it back. Use a private window. |
| It opens on every page change and visitors complain | Frequency is “every visit”. Change it to once per session or once a day. |
| A click does not open the right page | The link points at a draft, or the path is wrong. |
This is not the “popup form” block inside a page. To open a form from a button on one page, see Embed a form on a page.
