This page applies only when commerce is on and the platform has licensed online design (Web-to-Print).
For you and for the buyer, “Web-to-Print” and “product customization” are the same capability: lay the piece out in a design editor in the browser, then order. They are not two separate products.
The ordinary path, pick options, add to cart, check out, is in Publish a product and Set options and pricing. The option type Design editor is what opens this flow.
What the buyer goes through
- Open a product that supports design (the product needs the print or design options turned on).
- A design button opens the full-screen online editor (a separate service, often
studio.timtech.tw, embedded in your site’s flow). - Edit text, images, and layout from the template, then save the design.
- Return to the shop or the cart and check out. The system then handles the design with the order, including a possible PDF export. The details follow the plan.
Without this license, the product page does not offer design. Ordinary options and checkout still work.
What you do in the admin
| Work | What it means |
|---|---|
| Confirm the module is on | Commerce and online design are both licensed by the platform. You cannot turn them on yourself. |
| Set up a designable product | In the product editor, turn on the print or design options and prepare a template. An extra print tab may appear. |
| Option fields | When the customer should enter the editor, set the option type to Design editor. |
| Maintain templates (if you have them) | Print templates can be managed in the admin. Opening the editor still uses the studio. |
| Work the order | The order detail can show files and status tied to the design, as your screen actually shows them. |
Keep in mind
- The editor is deployed and maintained by the platform. You do not host the studio site yourself.
- A design file is not a normal product image. Do not think of its life cycle as “delete it from the media library.”
- An unfinished visitor draft may expire. Do not assume a draft is kept forever.
- If the product page has no design button: check the license, whether this product has design turned on, and whether the browser is blocking embedded third-party content.
Other commerce extras (member tiers, file-upload products, and so on) still depend on the plan and the settings. Trust the sidebar and the product editor.
