This article is complete: You can allow customers to place orders and make payments at the front end without integrating online payment processing (Green World, Neweb, PAYUNi, etc.).
Customers can choose Bank Transfer or select Cash on Delivery during regular delivery; you can confirm the payment in the backend after receiving the funds.
For integrating online payment processing, see How to Set Up Payment and Invoicing.
Prerequisites
- An e-commerce online purchase has been set up.
- You have a bank account that can receive payments (bank code, account name, account number).
Path
E-commerce → Store Settings (/admin/commerce/store).
Bank transfer is in the Payment tab; regular delivery is in the Logistics tab. After setting up, click save at the bottom.
Set up bank transfer
Find Bank Transfer at the bottom of the Payment tab, turn on the switch and fill in:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Bank Code | Three-digit bank code, for example, 812. |
| Bank Name/Branch | Displayed to customers; branch can be left blank. |
| Account Name/Account Number | The account for customer transfers. |
| Transfer Deadline (days) | 1–30 days. Orders that are not transferred or reported within the deadline will be automatically canceled. |
| Transfer Description | Optional, for example, who bears the handling fee. |
Bank Code, Account Name, and Account Number must all be filled for the checkout page to display "Bank Transfer."
When not integrating payment, turn off the switch for Online Payment (Green World, NewebPay, PAYUNi) at the top of the Payment tab. If all are turned off, or if the credentials are not fully filled out, the checkout page will not display online payment options like credit card or ATM, only the bank transfer, cash on delivery, or in-store payment that you have enabled.
Set up general delivery (self-shipping)
Find General Delivery (Self-Shipping) in the Logistics tab, turn on the switch and fill in:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Shipping Fee | The shipping fee charged for each order. |
| Free Shipping Threshold | Orders reaching this amount will have free shipping; fill in 0 to indicate no free shipping. |
| Allow Cash on Delivery | When enabled, customers can choose "Cash on Delivery" when selecting general delivery. |
Customers need to fill in the delivery address when selecting regular delivery, and you will send it yourself.
In-store pickup reminder
If you have in-store pickup enabled, there must be at least one active store for the checkout page to show in-store pickup. When all stores are disabled, a reminder will appear above the store list.
How customers can pay
Bank transfer
- When customers choose bank transfer at checkout, they will see your account, the amount due, and the transfer deadline after submission. The order confirmation email will also include this information.
- After customers make the transfer, they need to fill in the last five digits of the transfer account number in the report transfer section on the order page (amount, date, and remarks are optional).
- The report content will appear in the messages and order information, and you will be notified. After reporting, the order will not be automatically canceled due to overdue.
Cash on delivery
Customers select Standard Delivery and then choose Cash on Delivery. Once submitted, the order is complete, and the order status is 'Awaiting Payment on Delivery'.
How to confirm payment in the backend
Go to Orders and open the specific order.
| Payment Method | Action |
|---|---|
| Bank Transfer | First, verify the amount and the last five digits at the bank, then click Confirm Payment Received. The order will change to paid, and a payment success notification will be sent to the customer. |
| Cash on Delivery | You can ship first: fill in the logistics provider and tracking number, then click ship. The order will still be 'Awaiting Payment on Delivery'. After receiving the payment, click Confirm Payment Received. |
The action to confirm payment will pop up a confirmation window. Once clicked, it is irreversible.
How to verify
- The checkout page displays 'Bank Transfer' or 'Standard Delivery' 'Cash on Delivery'.
- Use remittance to place a test order, and you can see your account information on the success page, along with the last five digits.
- In the backend orders, you can see customer feedback, and after confirming, it will change to paid.
Common Issues
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| No "Bank Remittance" on checkout page | Bank code, account name, or account number is missing, or the switch is not turned on, or not saved. |
| Checkout page shows "Currently no available payment methods" | The delivery method has no available payment options. Enable bank remittance, or allow cash on delivery in general delivery settings. |
| No credit card on checkout page | The online payment switch is not turned on, or the credentials are not fully filled out; see How to set up payment and invoices. |
| No remittance or cash on delivery when there are frozen or refrigerated items in the cart | Expected behavior. Low-temperature delivery must use PAYUNi online payment; see How to set up checkout and shipping. |
| Remittance order was canceled | Exceeded remittance deadline and customer did not report. Canceled orders cannot be confirmed for payment; please ask the customer to place a new order. |
| Changed remittance account, but old order still shows old account | Expected behavior. Each order retains the account information at the time of order placement. |
