This article completes: Allow front-end checkout to accept payments and (if needed) issue electronic invoices.
For shipping methods, see How to Set Up Checkout and Shipping; for overseas customers using PayPal or international credit cards, see How to Set Up International Payments (PayPal, Stripe).
Prerequisites
- Have enabled online shopping for the e-commerce site.
- Green World, Newebpay, and PAYUNi require the platform to enable Taiwan online payment; electronic invoicing requires the platform to enable electronic invoicing. If not enabled, see below for 'Platform not enabled'.
- Store code and HashKey/HashIV can only be edited by the site owner. If the editor cannot see the key fields or cannot save, please use the site owner's account or ask the site owner to grant permissions.
Please first apply for a store with Green World, Newebpay, or PAYUNi, and prepare the store code (MerchantID/MerID), HashKey, and HashIV. Do not paste the keys into chat software or any public places outside of this manual.
Path
E-commerce → Store Settings (/admin/commerce/store) has three tabs: Payment, Logistics, and Invoice. This section explains Payment and Invoice; for Logistics, see How to Set Up Checkout and Shipping.
Some sites may also have a separate "ECPay Connection" page, with fields the same as here; fill out one and save.
Changes to Payment will only take effect after saving the store settings at the bottom.
Payment Tab
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Online Payment | ECPay, NewebPay, and PAYUNi each have a switch that can be turned on simultaneously. Only when the switch is on will the environment, credentials, and payment methods for that provider be displayed. If no payment gateway is integrated, all can be turned off, and checkout will only show offline payment methods like bank transfer and cash on delivery; see How to Collect Payments Without Integrating Payment Gateways. Electronic invoices are provided by ECPay. |
| Environment | Sandbox (Test) or Production (Live). Please switch to Production and replace with live store credentials before charging online. |
| Merchant ID | Store number from ECPay/NewebPay backend; PAYUNi uses UPP Merchant ID (MerID). |
| HashKey / HashIV | Encryption keys. Leave blank if already set to indicate no change. PAYUNi's Hash Key is 32 characters, and Hash IV is 16 characters, obtainable from the integration settings in the PAYUNi store backend. |
| PaymentInfoURL / NotifyURL | A URL with a dedicated token will be generated after saving. Please copy the entire segment to the corresponding fields in ECPay's "Payment Notification", NewebPay, or PAYUNi store backend. It may display "Will be generated after saving" before saving. |
Enabled Payment Methods
You can check options such as:
- Credit Card
- ATM virtual account (can set payment deadline days, range can be filled according to each company's regulations)
- Convenience store code (can set payment deadline days, range can be filled according to each company's regulations)
- Apple Pay (requires agreement, depending on whether it appears on the screen)
- Bluefin, PAYUNi may also have LINE Pay etc. (subject to the screen)
- Jkopay can only collect payments through PAYUNi
Payment method allocation
When more than two payment gateways are opened, and the same payment method (e.g., credit card) is checked, payment method allocation will appear below. Please select which company will collect that method. Customers will only see each payment method once on the checkout page. If not specified, collection will follow the order of Green World, Bluefin, PAYUNi.
PayPal and international credit cards (Stripe) are independent payment methods and do not participate in this allocation.
Amount limits
Some payment methods have limits on single transaction amounts. If the order amount exceeds the range, the checkout page will not display that payment method:
| Payment Method | Payment Type | Single Transaction Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Newebpay | ATM Virtual Account | Below NT$ 49,999 |
| Newebpay | Convenience Store Code | NT$ 30–20,000 |
| PAYUNi | Credit Card, Apple Pay | Below NT$ 199,999 |
| PAYUNi | ATM Virtual Account | NT$ 15–49,999 |
| PAYUNi | Convenience Store Code | NT$ 30–20,000 |
The limit for "Cash on Delivery at Convenience Store" in logistics is NT$ 20,000, see the shipping section.
"Cash on Delivery at Convenience Store / In-Store Payment" in logistics is not selected from this online payment group, see the shipping section.
Invoice tab (Green World Electronic Invoice)
After enabling, you can select the types of invoices available at checkout. It is recommended to at least enable Cloud Invoice (default). Other common types: Mobile Barcode, National ID Certificate, Donation Code, Company Account (Unified Number + Title).
When customers fill in the mobile barcode, National ID Certificate, or Unified Number, the checkout page will first check the format, and errors will prompt for correction.
Printed Invoice Mailing: When enabled, customers selecting a corporate account during checkout will be required to fill in the invoice mailing address. Green World will issue a printed invoice, which you will print and send out. When disabled, the invoice will exist in the Green World system, and customers will be notified via Email.
Invoices will be voided or discounted upon refund; the voiding period and restrictions for donation invoices can be found in How to Handle Orders.
Default carrier for the checkout page, whether to allow buyers to change it, and whether to automatically issue invoices after payment can be found in the Checkout tab, see How to Set Up Checkout and Shipping.
Logistics and invoice credentials can be checked as "Use the same credentials as payment"; if Green World logistics/invoice uses a different store code, fill them out separately.
See "Not enabled by platform"
If any area in the payment, logistics, or invoice tabs shows Not enabled by platform, it means your site's plan does not include this integration, so the setting fields are not visible:
| Displayed in | Unavailable Items | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Tab | Taiwan Online Payment | Checkout will not show online payment options like credit card, ATM, convenience store codes; POS cannot use online payment |
| Payment Tab | International Online Payment | Checkout will not show PayPal, international credit cards |
| Logistics Tab | Logistics Integration | Checkout will not show Green World delivery, convenience store pickup, cash on delivery at convenience stores, low-temperature delivery |
| Logistics Tab | International Shipping | Checkout cannot select overseas countries |
| Invoice Tab | Electronic Invoice | New orders will not automatically issue invoices, and invoices cannot be manually issued on the order page |
If you need these features, please contact the platform for activation. In the meantime, you can still use bank transfers, cash on delivery, in-store payments, general delivery, and store pickup, see How to Collect Payments Without Payment Integration.
When the platform closes a certain integration, the credentials and settings you previously filled out will be retained and will be restored once re-enabled. Established orders will be processed as usual: refunds, payment notifications, and logistics status will not be affected, and issued invoices can still be voided or discounted.
Testing is recommended (must do)
- Set the environment to Sandbox, using the test store code and key for that payment gateway.
- Make a test credit card order on the frontend (test card numbers should follow the guidelines of each payment gateway's documentation).
- The Orders section in the backend should reflect as paid.
- The notification URL should be pasted into the backend of that payment gateway; if it remains pending payment, it is likely that the notification URL was not pasted, was pasted incorrectly, or is still in testing while the payment gateway points to production. Remember to paste it for each payment gateway when multiple are opened.
- After confirming everything is correct, switch to Production and replace with the official credentials, then make a small real order for verification.
How to verify
- The selected payment method appears on the checkout page.
- After payment, the order payment status is marked as paid, and the event log shows payment success.
- When an invoice is issued, the order details display the invoice number (or failure reason).
- Notification emails have been sent to both the site owner and the buyer (the notification tab is open).
Common Issues
| Situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| Unable to save the key | Not a site owner account. |
| Checkout redirects incorrectly or remains pending payment | Environment (test/production) does not match the certificate; Webhook not pasted or pasted to the wrong store. |
| "Green World certificate not fully set" | MerchantID, HashKey, HashIV are missing. |
| Shipping with Green World logistics failed | Logistics tab has not enabled Green World logistics, logistics certificate not filled, sender information missing, or address lacks postal code. |
| ATM or convenience store code cannot be automatically refunded | Expected behavior; please manually refund in the payment backend of that provider, see How to handle orders for refund methods for each payment type. |
| Large orders do not show ATM or convenience store codes | Order exceeds the payment provider's amount limit, see above "Amount limits". |
| PAYUNi save failed | Hash Key must be 32 characters, Hash IV must be 16 characters, please copy the entire segment from the PAYUNi backend. |
| Credit card charged by an unwanted provider | Change to the desired payment provider in Payment Method Assignment, then save. |
| Cannot see payment or invoice setting fields, only "Not enabled by platform" | The plan does not include that integration, please contact the platform to enable it, see above "Seeing 'Not enabled by platform'". |
