Admin: Site → Members (/admin/settings/members). The page title is Members.
Use it to invite colleagues to maintain this site’s admin, and to decide who is an owner, an editor, or a viewer.
Who can open this? By default, only a site owner. Anyone else is sent back to another settings page. A site editor cannot invite members or change someone else’s role.
This is not the same list as public visitors or buyers who sign in. Customers and members are in The public sign-in and member area. How long form submissions are kept, and how a member deletes their own account, are in Privacy and data deletion.
Three roles (the usual defaults)
For the detail, and what an editor usually cannot change, see Sign-in and roles.
| Role | Who it is for | What they can roughly do |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | The person responsible for the site | Almost all content and settings; invite and remove members; adjust collaboration; brand, domain, payment, and similar |
| Editor | Day-to-day upkeep | Pages, news, forms, the library, and day-to-day work in modules that are on |
| Viewer | Someone who only needs to look | Usually they can see the admin and cannot save or upload |
The page also says that a viewer can only read the admin, and cannot save SEO or articles.
A site owner cannot turn someone else into an owner, and cannot invite a new owner. To add or remove an owner, contact TimTech.
A workable order
- Send an invite from Invite and manage members (choose editor or viewer).
- They set a password with the invited email (or sign in to an existing account) and accept the invite.
- If an editor can do too much, open Narrow what editors can do and set a module to read-only or none.
- If a colleague says the sidebar is missing something, compare What to do when permission is denied and How modules are turned on.
